What You'll Do As a Dental Assistant at Santa Rosa Beach Family Dental, you will work alongside our doctors and clinical team to provide exceptional patient care while helping each day run efficiently and successfully.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit. Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures. Assisting the doctor chairside during a variety of dental procedures. Anticipating the doctor's needs and maintaining an efficient clinical workflow. Taking high-quality digital X-rays and clinical photographs. Taking digital impressions/scans when needed. Reviewing medical histories and documenting accurate patient information. Maintaining complete and accurate clinical notes and patient records. Educating patients on treatment, post-operative instructions, and home-care recommendations. Supporting patients throughout their treatment journey and serving as a strong patient advocate. Following proper sterilization, infection-control, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols. Maintaining clean, organized, fully stocked operatories. Monitoring clinical supplies and communicating inventory needs before supplies run low. Supporting the doctor and clinical team in staying on schedule and providing an exceptional patient experience. Communicating effectively with the administrative team to ensure a seamless transition from the front office to the clinical experience. Participating in morning Opportunity Meetings, team meetings, training, and continuing education. Being willing to jump in, help teammates, and contribute wherever needed. What We're Looking For Our ideal Dental Assistant is someone who brings both clinical skill and an exceptional attitude to the practice. We are looking for someone with: Previous dental assisting experience (preferred) Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification (preferred) Dental radiography certification as required by Florida law (preferred) Experience with Open Dental (preferred) Experience with digital scanning and modern dental technology is a plus. Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols. Excellent communication and patient-care skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to anticipate needs rather than waiting to be asked. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. A willingness to learn, receive feedback, and continually improve. A positive attitude and a genuine desire to serve patients and teammates.
