Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and professional Dental Assistant / Treatment Plan & Front Desk Coordinator to join our team in Florida. This unique role combines chair-side clinical support with front-desk responsibilities and treatment plan presentation. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during procedures, ensure smooth patient flow, manage scheduling and insurance coordination, and clearly communicate treatment options and financial details to patients. This position is perfect for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing excellent patient care while supporting both the clinical and administrative sides of the practice. Should be able to speak both English and Spanish. Duties Prepare and set up treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies for dental procedures Assist dentists chair-side during procedures, including four-handed dentistry Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories Take diagnostic records such as X-rays, impressions, intraoral photos, and study models Prepare patients for treatment and provide post-operative instructions Greet and check in/out patients; manage scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations Verify patient insurance, eligibility, and collect necessary information Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and maintain accurate patient records Process billing, payments, co-pays, and assist with insurance claims Maintain inventory and order supplies for both clinical and front office needs Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Florida dental regulations Work with dentists to prepare and present treatment plans to patients Explain treatment options, costs, and insurance coverage in patient-friendly terms Schedule treatments and follow up with patients who have pending or deferred care Track and report treatment plan acceptance and outstanding cases Maintain current certifications (CPR/BLS, radiography, EFDA if applicable) Attend staff meetings, training, and continuing education sessions Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent training preferred Certification in dental radiography (if required for the role) Florida licenses/certificates as required (e.g., Florida Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant if applicable) Current CPR/BLS certification Prior experience as a chair-side dental assistant Experience with front desk tasks (scheduling, insurance verification, patient check-in/out) Experience presenting treatment plans or discussing financial/insurance details with patients is a plus Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to explain procedures and costs clearly Customer service orientation with ability to build rapport and trust with patients Organized and detail-oriented; capable of multitasking in a busy office Proficiency with dental office software (charting, treatment planning, scheduling, billing) Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, imaging software, payment/financing systems) Professional demeanor; adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and Florida dental regulations
