Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry Take high-quality dental x-rays and record significant findings. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management to ensure comfort and safety throughout treatment sessions Process dental instruments efficiently, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination Support the dental reception team by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and providing excellent customer service Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management is essential for accuracy and compliance Hands-on knowledge of dental equipment including X-ray machines, dental sterilization devices, and other clinical tools Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and record keeping Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control procedures Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing training opportunities are available for motivated candidates Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference every day!
