Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will support dentists and hygienists during clinical procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans with precision, maintaining strict adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, taking vital signs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate dental equipment such as Dentrix, and other patient management software to schedule appointments, update records, and facilitate efficient clinic operations. Process dental instruments following sterilization standards, maintain clinical confidentiality policies, and support infection control practices consistently. Support administrative tasks like answering the dental receptionist phone line, managing patient management software entries, and coordinating patient care schedules. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by performing dental instrument processing and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy enhances your ability to assist effectively across various specialties including oral surgery and endodontics. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix is advantageous for seamless patient data management. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus; strong communication skills are necessary for engaging with patients of all ages. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards; knowledge of dental equipment operation is essential for supporting clinical workflows.
