Duties Assist dentists and dental hygienists during patient procedures, including chairside assisting and instrument passing with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies according to infection prevention management protocols Take and process dental X-rays using digital imaging systems, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Open Dental or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation aligns with clinical confidentiality policies Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, and providing clear instructions on pre- and post-treatment care Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures as required for comprehensive patient assessments Maintain a clean, sterile environment by adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix, or similar software for efficient medical documentation and record keeping Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties Experience with dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and other clinical tools Ability to perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management effectively Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency during procedures Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and medical documentation standards Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and care for their needs Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry and the ability to interpret medical records accurately We are looking for someone who takes pride in patient care, cleanliness, organization, and teamwork .
