Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records
  • Utilize Dentrix software for appointment scheduling and record keeping
  • Follow aseptic techniques to ensure infection control protocols are followed
  • Assist with CAD/CAM procedures and digital impressions
  • Provide assistance with medical coding and billing systems, such as Epic
  • Specialize in assisting with pediatric dental procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
  • State-specific dental assistant certification or licensure, if applicable
  • Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Proficiency in using Dentrix software for appointment scheduling and record keeping
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology and digital impressions
  • Understanding of medical coding systems, such as Epic, for billing purposes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
