Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygiene Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic position, you will support dental hygienists and dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, taking dental radiographs, instrument sterilization, and ensuring a smooth, efficient workflow. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their oral health journey. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting dedicated to excellence in general and pediatric dentistry. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all clinical supplies are stocked and ready for patient care Assist dentists and hygienists during procedures such as cleanings, X-rays, oral surgeries, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other dental treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to infection prevention management protocols Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Curve Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor vital signs of patients before procedures to ensure safety and comfort, following clinical confidentiality policies at all times Support infection control practices by following dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards Assist with dental instrument processing, dental equipment maintenance, and ensuring the clinic adheres to strict infection prevention policies Skills While on-the-job training is provided the following skills are desired: Proficiency with EMR systems such as Curve Dental Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures relevant to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and healthcare infection prevention expertise Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental x-ray units, and other clinical tools effectively Familiarity with dental receptionist duties such as appointment scheduling and patient communication to ensure seamless clinic operations Join us in making a difference through compassionate care!
