Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide exceptional patient care. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring the comfort of our patients.Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing retraction as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays using proper techniques and safety measures
- Utilize computer-aided design (Itero) software to create digital impressions for restorative procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including but not limited to fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care instructions
- Perform basic dental laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Record accurate medical documentation in patient charts, including vital signs and treatment plans
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and utilizing Itero software for digital impressions
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, systems, and terminology
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene practices
