Job Overview Experienced Part-Time Dental Assistant at Two Rivers Dentistry Are you passionate about oral health, holistic wellness, and cutting-edge technology? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, froward-thinking environment where the patient care goes far beyond basics? We are not your average dental office. At Two River's Dentistry we combine general dentistry with sleep medicine, TMJ treatments, Iv sedations, Implants, facial esthetics - including PRF therapy, laser technology, and injectables like Botox. Our practice serves both children and adults. Responsibilities Assist dentists with clinical procedures including chairside support during exams, restorations, extractions, and oral surgeries. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, or other patient management software, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and compassion. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA standards. Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control across the practice. Assist with dental instrument processing and ensure all dental equipment is functioning properly for efficient clinical operations. Collaborate with the team on dental terminology education, ensuring clear communication about procedures such as endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry treatments. Contribute to a smooth workflow by supporting dental reception duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential. Proficiency in using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous; experience with Sidexis or other healthcare software is a plus. Knowledge of dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging procedures, and dental sterilization protocols is required. Strong understanding of dental terminology related to various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery. Demonstrated commitment to healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and infection prevention management policies. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and team members in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing medical records accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Join us in making a difference through compassionate care!
