Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring smooth operations and providing excellent patient care. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, making it essential for candidates to be organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable in dental procedures. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and proper instrument handling. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary materials for procedures. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and answer any questions they may have regarding their treatment. Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to optimize office efficiency. Perform basic administrative tasks such as filing, billing, and handling insurance claims related to dental services. Stay updated on infection control protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Skills Proficient in medical coding and understanding of dental terminology. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Experience as a dental receptionist is a plus, enhancing communication with patients regarding appointments and billing inquiries. Competence in medical imaging techniques for accurate diagnostic support. Understanding of infection control practices to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively, assisting the dentist during procedures efficiently. Experience with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Epic is preferred.
