Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments, managing suction, and providing chairside support. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations for confidentiality. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Operate patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to schedule appointments, update patient information, and facilitate efficient clinic workflow. Support the dental receptionist in greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling, and handling administrative tasks related to medical documentation. Skills Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient data entry and retrieval. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and clinical procedures including dental x-ray techniques. Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in general dentistry settings. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and oral surgery procedures to provide compassionate patient care. Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
