In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of clinical procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to radiation safety protocols and infection prevention management policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient management. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental wellness. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical confidentiality policies is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework in medical terminology, infection control, or radiography is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
