Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental treatments while ensuring patient comfort and maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality and infection control policies. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning correctly according to infection prevention management standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental X-ray machines, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical documentation systems such as EMR systems, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing dental supplies, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient workflow. Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management to ensure comfort throughout procedures. Maintain clinical cleanliness by adhering to dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols, including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention practices. Educate patients about oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric or adult patients. Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling, patient management software, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Ensure compliance with all clinical confidentiality policies and uphold the highest standards of patient care. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, or similar specialties. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology related to dentistry, and dental instrument processing techniques. Hands-on experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, sterilization devices, and other clinical tools. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar patient management software. Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management practices and aseptic technique in clinical settings. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and clinical confidentiality policies.
