Job Description

Overview Avon Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical team with advanced assisting skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in dental assisting, clinical procedures, and patient management within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your compassion, kindness, respect, and dedication will help ensure smooth operations and outstanding patient experiences from check-in to treatment completion. Duties Assist dentist during a wide range of procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, whitening with precision and confidence. Experience with E4D and/or CAD/CAM preferred as same day crowns are offered. Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take dental radiographs, take medical history and blood pressure, clean rooms - ensuring adherence to infection prevention management. Manage patient records using Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in charting and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Process dental instruments and equipment sterilization following strict infection control protocols. Capture high-quality imaging using intraoral scanners while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by adhering to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention policies. Educate patients on oral health practices, dental terminology, and post-treatment care to foster informed decision-making. Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and clinical workflows. Valid Radiology Licensure. Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including intraoral and extraoral imaging. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention standards and clinical confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication skills for effective patient care delivery and collaboration within the dental team.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm Paid holidays, staff appreciation days, staff meetings/outings, holiday party and holiday bonus offered in addition to 401K match and other benefits.
