Job Summary As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting orthodontists in providing quality dental care to patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with orthodontic procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Duties
- Assist orthodontists during procedures such as adjustments, fittings, and installations
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient appointments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs
- Provide chairside assistance to orthodontists
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care of orthodontic appliances
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment following aseptic techniques
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records Experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Experience in a dental clinic setting, particularly in prosthodontics or orthodontics
- Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation
- Familiarity with dental receptionist duties is a plus
- Ability to perform basic medical imaging procedures like x-rays
