We're looking for an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team and help us deliver excellent care in a friendly, fast-paced environment. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant with an active Radiology License to support our dentists chairside and perform expanded functions, including placing fillings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with patients, and thrives in a team-based setting. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state regulations Place and finish direct restorations (fillings) under the dentist's supervision, per state scope of practice Capture digital scans using intraoral scanners for restorative and other procedures Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols Set up and break down treatment rooms between patients Educate patients on post-op care and oral hygiene Maintain accurate patient records and chart procedures Manage dental materials inventory and reorder supplies as needed Support front office with scheduling or patient flow as needed Requirements Active Radiology License (required) Certification/license to perform expanded functions, including placement of fillings, per state requirements Current CPR/BLS certification Minimum [1-2] years of dental assisting experience preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards Excellent communication and patient-care skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) a plus Experience with digital intraoral scanners a plus Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Employer-matched 401(k) Paid holidays Paid time off (PTO) Monthly bonus system Work anniversary bonus Scrub allowance Thank you for reading, and we look forward to hearing from you!
