Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Cross Trained Dental Assistant, where your versatility and expertise will elevate patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this role, you will seamlessly transition between chairside assisting, administrative support, and clinical procedures including general dentistry, crown and bridge, implants and oral surgery. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, and implant treatments, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety Prepare treatment rooms with proper infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and maintain sterile environments in accordance with HIPAA regulations Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-ray), operate CBCT and intra oral scanner, and perform vital signs assessments to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records in OpenDental, ensuring precise documentation of medical and dental histories, treatment notes, and dental coding Front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow Conduct dental imaging procedures and assist with medical documentation to ensure comprehensive patient records are maintained securely Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to effectively communicate with team members and patients across diverse cases Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with strong background in general dentistry; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus Familiarity with OpenDental or similar platforms for medical records management Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Certification in X-ray safety and proficiency in taking radiographs; additional training in 3D scanning is advantageous Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a clinical setting Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during multiple procedures such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and restorative treatments Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain dental procedures using appropriate terminology to patients of all ages Knowledge of dental procedures and coding practices relevant to dental clinics Join us to be part of an energetic team dedicated to delivering exceptional, comprehensive dental care!
