Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty treatments by passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while following dental x-ray safety protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including updating medical documentation, vital signs, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks with professionalism. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Assist with dental instrument processing to ensure all tools are properly sterilized for safe reuse. Support the team with general clinic duties such as inventory management of dental equipment and supplies, including the use of a four-handed dentistry approach for efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information. Skilled in taking dental x-rays (including dental x-ray safety protocols) and operating medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices necessary for safe clinical operations. Ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in dental instrument processing, aseptic technique, and infection prevention management. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus; experience supporting oral surgery or endodontic procedures is highly valued. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients and team members effectively. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) preferred but not mandatory.
