Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during clinical procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, adhering to strict sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer their questions with clear dental terminology. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments efficiently using aseptic techniques and adhering to infection control standards. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as patient management software updates and coordinating appointment schedules with the dental receptionist. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and dental instrument processing. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical documentation standards. Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate record keeping. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and clinical confidentiality policies are upheld at all times. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety guidelines; experience with dental x-ray equipment preferred. Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control expertise. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, providing compassionate care in a friendly manner. Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized areas like oral surgery or prosthodontics when needed.
