Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Dental Assistant for a specialty dental office and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, dental materials, and supplies, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including root canals and root surgeries. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray sensors and 3D scanners, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like PBS Endo and Dexis while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions and dental terminology to enhance their understanding of procedures. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures is required. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and infection control practices is required. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry is required. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely is required. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Certification in CPR or BLS is preferred; x-ray certification is required.
