Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for use, adhering to sterilization protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, utilizing medical imaging techniques. Utilize a 3D scanner for accurate impressions and models when required. Document patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software for efficient tracking and scheduling. Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Implement four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Qualifications Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with knowledge of four-handed dentistry practices. Familiarity with Dentrix is an advantage. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Proficiency in medical imaging techniques, including taking X-rays and using 3D scanners. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially children in pediatric settings. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory.
