Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment schedules, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes using patient management software Dentrix Ascend Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, including dental x-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all clinical supplies are stocked Assist dentists during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other general dentistry treatments by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment following infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental x-rays with proper aseptic technique while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Record accurate medical documentation including vital signs, medical history updates, and treatment notes in electronic medical records (EMR systems) Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls as a dental receptionist, handling billing inquiries, and maintaining organized medical records Follow infection control standards by adhering to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention policies to ensure patient safety at all times Skills Proficiency in EMR systems Dentrix Ascend for managing patient data efficiently Knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and anatomy relevant to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools Strong understanding of infection control practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic technique Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency Familiarity with medical documentation standards and medical terminology for accurate record keeping Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding patient care and support a welcoming office environment This paid position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in dental assisting while delivering exceptional patient experiences.
