The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional dental care in a professional and welcoming environment. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are readily available for patient appointments. Take radiographs. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following infection prevention management policies to uphold clinical safety standards. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to assist in comprehensive treatment planning and ensure patient safety. Provide patient management support by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records with integrity. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed, utilizing patient management software effectively. Ensure the proper functioning of dental equipment including dental x-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools. Uphold infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper dental sterilization procedures to prevent cross-contamination. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to clinical practice. Hands-on experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry practices. Understanding of infection prevention management policies and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Experience working with pediatric patients or in specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous but not mandatory.
