The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our dental practice, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of dental terminology and medical office procedures. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process. Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively. Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services, procedures, and insurance coverage. Verify insurance eligibility and perform insurance verification tasks. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process medical billing and coding using EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including CPT coding and
ICD-9/ICD-10
codes. Assist with medical collections as needed while maintaining professionalism. Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls efficiently. Support the dental team with clerical tasks, including filing, typing, and maintaining health information management systems. Skills Proficient in medical terminology and dental terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff. Experience with EMR systems such as Athenahealth or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient experience. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for enhanced patient communication. Previous experience in a dental clinic or medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding (ICD coding) and care plans is advantageous. Strong organizational skills for effective office management and documentation review.
