Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. This position requires a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties
  • Assist orthodontists during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining an aseptic environment.
  • Document patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilize Ortho2 Edge software for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and documenting treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks as needed, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries. Skills
  • Proficiency in assisting with orthodontic procedures and understanding of dental clinic operations.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation processes and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Experience using Ortho2 Edge or similar dental management systems is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while providing compassionate care to patients.
  • Prior experience in Orthodontics is a plus but not required.
