Responsibilities:

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures providing chair side support with precision and care. Take dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology while maintaining proper safety standards. Manage patient records using OpenDental; ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Experience:

Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with OpenDental is essential Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures is required to uphold safety standards. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology enhances your ability to assist effectively across various specialties Experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques and use of 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding ensures accurate recordkeeping and billing processes. Certification in chairside assisting or dental assisting programs demonstrates your commitment to professional growth in general dentistry settings.
