Located in Crofton, Maryland, the practice serves patients across Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties, as well as neighboring cities such as Baltimore, Annapolis, Bowie, Odenton, Washington D.C., and Davidsonville. Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and dental technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support comprehensive dental treatments while ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and restorative dentistry with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, recording vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies by securely handling patient information and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments using patient management software and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out procedures. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems Open DentaL for managing patient records and treatment documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team practicing aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention standards. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality. Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 35.0 per week
