Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant with a preference for radiology experience to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will support the delivery of exceptional patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing dental imaging, and ensuring a smooth clinical workflow. Your expertise in radiology and familiarity with dental technology will be instrumental in providing accurate diagnostics and maintaining high standards of infection control. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize dental instruments, and ensure all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take high-quality dental X-ray images using digital radiography equipment, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards. Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical records, recording vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Archy and Dexis, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Training of both is provided Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and assisting with appointment scheduling as a dental receptionist when needed. Follow all clinical procedures related to dental instrument processing, sterilization protocols, and aseptic technique to uphold the highest standards of infection control. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a fast-paced pediatric dental clinic environment; experience with dental radiology preferred. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records efficiently. We will be using Archy but on job training is included. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare infection prevention practices to ensure patient privacy and safety. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental sterilization devices, and other clinical tools effectively. Excellent communication skills for patient care and team collaboration; experience in dental assisting or medical documentation is highly valued. Certification in dental assisting or relevant healthcare training; radiology certification is preferred but not mandatory.
