Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals. In this energetic role, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for patient procedures in accordance with infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty treatments using chairside assisting techniques, four-handed dentistry practices, and dental terminology. Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging using advanced equipment like 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems specifically Dentrix, ensuring all documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with patient management before, during, and after treatments to promote optimal patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions while maintaining professional communication standards. Support administrative tasks including answering the dental receptionist phone line, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental equipment, medical terminology, and clinical procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention practices. Certification or training in dental x-ray techniques; experience with digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners is a plus. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures preferred. Ability to perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintain clinical confidentiality policies diligently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
