Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the dental practice's operations. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate medical documentation and update patient records in the electronic health record system (Epic or Eaglesoft). Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Schedule appointments and manage the dental clinic's front desk operations when necessary. Support endodontic procedures by preparing materials and assisting the dentist as required. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Requirements Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology is essential. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft is preferred. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is an advantage. Understanding of infection control standards in a healthcare environment. Ability to assist in endodontic procedures is desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate medical documentation. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
