Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for a talented dental assistant who is looking to expand their skills and grow in their career. Patients voted Lighthouse Dental Group as one of the top 3 dental offices in Berrien County 2 years in a row. We have hundreds of 5 star reviews! We will train the right candidate on the latest in technology. Solea Laser, Primescan, 3D Conebeam, digital radiographs, Optical Cancer Detection Technology, etc. We also have unlimited training available free of charge on CDOCS for all team members. We work full-time 4 days a week (M-Th) with hours averaging from 32 to 40. Compensation will increase as the team member's skills grow. Our Doctor has been practicing since 2000 while also teaching dental assisting at a local college for many years. She loves to help dental assistants grow their skills. Dental assistants who aspire to become Expanded Function Dental Assistants are highly encouraged to apply. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures. Educate patients on Complete Health Dentistry. How an unhealthy mouth affects the health of the whole body. Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use. Perform medical imaging procedures, including digital X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols. Utilize Dentrix for patient management and record keeping. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling appointments. Support endodontic and prosthodontic procedures by preparing necessary materials and instruments. Demonstrate aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care. Qualifications Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology is essential. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Proficiency in medical digital imaging techniques is a plus but not required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. Certification as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
