Overview We are seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with pediatric dental experience to join our friendly and compassionate dental team. The ideal candidate is confident working with children, enjoys creating positive dental experiences, and is comfortable assisting the dentist in a busy pediatric practice. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental team to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to our young patients. You will assist with clinical procedures, prepare treatment rooms, take dental X-rays, maintain accurate patient records, and help children feel comfortable and at ease during their dental visits. We are looking for someone who is dependable, patient, professional, and passionate about working with children and their families. Responsibilities Assist the pediatric dentist chairside during examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other dental procedures. Provide a calm, friendly, and reassuring environment for children before, during, and after treatment. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment according to infection-control and sterilization standards. Take dental X-rays and digital images while following proper radiation safety procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Open Dental . Assist with patient charting, treatment documentation, and clinical notes. Educate children and parents/guardians on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Properly clean, disinfect, sterilize, and process dental instruments. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment. Assist with patient flow, room turnover, and daily clinical operations. Communicate effectively with children of different ages and personalities while helping them feel safe and comfortable. Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements. Work closely with the dentist and dental team to provide excellent patient care. Qualifications & Experience Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification required. Previous pediatric dental experience required. Experience working with children of different ages and comfort levels. Strong knowledge of pediatric dental procedures, terminology, instruments, and equipment. Experience taking dental X-rays and working with digital imaging. Familiarity with Open Dental is preferred. Knowledge of dental infection control, sterilization, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with children and their families.
