The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient management, and dental procedures, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This role offers an engaging environment where you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental services, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. The position is paid and open to candidates with relevant experience or training in dental assisting. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, including chairside assisting and handling dental instruments efficiently. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance patient understanding and satisfaction. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, ensuring their safety throughout procedures. Maintain the cleanliness and sterilization of dental equipment following established sterilization procedures for infection control. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, managing patient flow, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. Collaborate with the team to uphold healthcare infection prevention standards and ensure compliance with all clinical safety protocols. Skills Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Experience with dental equipment operation, including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools. Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection prevention management. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during complex procedures such as oral surgery or endodontic treatments. Familiarity with healthcare infection control standards and medical imaging protocols to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds while demonstrating professionalism at all times. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry to facilitate accurate documentation and patient education. Ability to work collaboratively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal efficiency.
