Responsibilities Greet and seat patients with a positive, welcoming attitude. Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement and bracket removal. Take digital X-rays, photos, impressions, and scans. Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide comprehensive chairside assistance by explaining procedures using dental terminology and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments. Remove and replace archwires. Fit and adjust removable and fixed appliances Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and elastic wear. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with the team on general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialty procedures to ensure seamless patient care. Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on orthodontics. Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
