Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during examinations, procedures, and treatments by preparing and passing dental instruments and materials efficiently. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments according to infection prevention management procedures and maintaining aseptic techniques. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Support patient management through scheduling appointments, updating medical history, and managing patient flow using patient management software. Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners and other clinical tools, ensuring proper operation and routine maintenance. Follow infection control protocols diligently to prevent cross-contamination during all clinical activities. Assist with oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures as part of four-handed dentistry teams. Ensure all medical imaging is performed accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning while adhering to safety standards. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records efficiently. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique. Skilled in taking high-quality dental X-rays (including dental x-ray imaging) with attention to safety protocols. Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, medical imaging devices, and other clinical tools. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently during various dental procedures across general dentistry disciplines. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times. Excellent communication skills for explaining treatments clearly and providing compassionate patient care. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with a focus on infection control standards.
