Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic, and create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to strict safety protocols and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, providing excellent customer service and guiding patients through their visit. Assist with vital signs measurement and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry to maximize efficiency during procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Experience with dental software open dental for managing medical records and documentation is preferred but not required. Familiarity with infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills combined with a friendly demeanor to provide compassionate care in pediatric dentistry settings.
