Kalamazoo Periodontics:

Dr. Leja is looking for a patient focused dental assistant to join our team. The position is for a full time dental assistant that is passionate about dentistry. Periodontists are dental specialists with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease (periodontal disease), the placement of dental implants and other gum problems. The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, enjoy building relationships with patients, be able to effectively communicate with patients, and have a passion for dentistry. Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Seating patients Gathering dental and medical history information Taking digital x-rays and intraoral pictures Assist dentist during surgical procedures Maintain infection control protocols and sterilize dental instructions Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care Assist hygienist as needed

Skills:

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy Proficiency in taking dental X-rays Familiarity with dental coding and documentation practices Excellent infection control practices and knowledge of OSHA regulations Experience with digital charting Ability to work well in a team environment and provide exceptional patient care Experience working with periodontal patients is preferred If you are a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional dental care, we encourage you to apply for this position.
