Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) with Open Dental - ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination Qualifications Proven experience in dental clinic settings with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and procedures Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental; experience with patient management software is highly desirable Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection control policies Ability to operate dental x-ray machines safely and accurately; certification in dental radiography preferred Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals Certification in medical terminology is a plus; ongoing professional development in dental assisting is encouraged Join us in making a difference through compassionate care!
