Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary dental materials in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to ensure safety during procedures, especially for pediatric patients. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and guiding patients through their visit. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, following infection control guidelines and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical records management and data entry within Epic or similar systems. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with infection control procedures and maintaining sterile environments in accordance with OSHA standards. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment like X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring they feel comfortable throughout their visit.
