Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures such as X-ray imaging, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring all tools are ready and accessible. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details precisely. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote ongoing dental wellness. Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures following aseptic technique standards to ensure safety and compliance. Support front desk operations by assisting with patient management software, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling administrative tasks as a dental receptionist. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical documentation and records management. Strong understanding of infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention practices. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental instruments, and other clinical tools efficiently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain treatment plans clearly while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training; familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is advantageous.
