Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other restorative treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and managing patient management software for scheduling and follow-up appointments. Maintain dental equipment functionality by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues with dental instruments and medical imaging devices. Support the dental team with administrative duties including answering the dental receptionist phone lines, managing appointment schedules, and ensuring smooth patient flow. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic for managing medical records and patient information. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical confidentiality policies is essential for accurate documentation and effective communication. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to uphold healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Hands-on experience assisting with pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics is advantageous. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools confidently. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry to support accurate record keeping and patient communication.
