Overview We are looking for a dental assistant who wants to learn and advance. We like to see assistants gain expanded functions and increase their capabilities and compensation. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while ensuring adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, taking vital signs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to schedule appointments, update records, and facilitate efficient patient care. Support dental reception duties by managing patient inquiries, coordinating appointments, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Ensure all dental equipment is functioning properly and assist with dental instrument processing for sterilization and maintenance. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency with Eaglesoft is essential for efficient patient management. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy enhances your ability to support clinical procedures effectively. Familiarity with dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery assistance, endodontics procedures, and prosthodontics is advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and infection control policies. Strong organizational skills with experience in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and medical documentation are key to success in this role.
