Lead Orthodontic Clinical Assistant

•Traditional, MARPE & Airway Specialist Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Orthodontic Clinical Assistant to join our specialized orthodontic practice. This role is pivotal in supporting orthodontic treatments, including traditional methods, MARPE (Mini-Implant Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion), and airway-focused orthodontics. The ideal candidate will bring a friendly personality, excellent communication skills with patients of all ages, and a strong background in dental/orthodontic assisting. As a lead team member, you will ensure smooth clinical operations, uphold infection control standards, and provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment committed to advancing airway health and orthodontic excellence. Duties Assist the orthodontist chair-side during various procedures, including traditional braces, MARPE, and airway-related treatments. Prepare and sterilize dental equipment in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control protocols. Take dental x-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Manage patient care by providing clear instructions, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Utilize patient management software to schedule appointments, update records, and coordinate treatment plans efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to sterilization procedures at all times. Communicate effectively with patients of all ages—including children, teens, and parents—explaining procedures clearly and compassionately. Support the orthodontic team with administrative tasks as needed to ensure seamless clinic operations. Stay informed about advancements in orthodontic equipment, techniques related to MARPE, airway orthodontics, and infection control practices. Lead by example in maintaining a professional appearance and friendly demeanor that fosters trust and comfort among patients. Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on orthodontics; experience in chair-side assisting is essential. Familiarity with MARPE procedures and airway orthodontics is highly preferred. Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques and sterilization procedures aligned with healthcare standards. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and patient management software. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, teens, and their parents. Friendly personality combined with a professional appearance that reflects confidence and approachability. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols.
