In this vital role, you will support Dr. Rob in delivering exceptional dental care tailored to children's unique needs. Your energy, attention to detail, and compassionate approach will contribute to fostering healthy smiles and building lasting relationships with families. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in pediatric dentistry while making a meaningful difference in children's oral health. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, and oral surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as digital dental X-ray machines, adhering to radiation safety standards. Follow strict clinical confidentiality policies while documenting medical histories, treatment notes, and other essential records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Support infection control practices through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices suitable for children and reinforce good dental habits. Qualifications Prior experience working in a pediatric dental office environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with dental software, we currently use Denticon for managing patient records and scheduling. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, dental instruments and sterilization tools. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor that puts young patients at ease. Certification or training in dental assisting is advantageous; ongoing professional development is encouraged. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact compassionately with children and families.
