In this energetic role, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient care, and medical documentation will help create a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection control standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or other diagnostic tests as needed. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and medical coding standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Excellent communication skills to educate patients about procedures and post-treatment care. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of medical records and sensitive information. Knowledge of specialized areas such as endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
