Potential Extensions:
Through 2031 (Contract can be extended up to 5 years) Candidates must be flexible to accommodate schedule changes and emergencies as required by the facility. Responsibilities & Clinical Experience The Certified Dental Assistant will support dental providers with clinical and administrative dental services, including: Chairside assistance for restorative dentistry Oral surgery assistance Periodontics and periodontal surgery Prosthetic and denture procedures Dental examinations and patient preparation Dental and periodontal charting Dental radiography and digital radiographs Instrument cleaning, sharpening, and sterilization Dental equipment maintenance Maintaining electronic and/or paper dental records Taking primary impressions and pouring casts Supporting other dental procedures and patient-care activities as assigned Qualifications Candidates should have: Dental Assistant experience Specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school Training that includes dental radiology and radiology safety Current CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association Familiarity with the clinical procedures and responsibilities listed above Ability to provide supporting education/certification documentation Previous correctional or detention facility experience is a plus, but candidates should be comfortable working in a federal correctional healthcare environment with frequent or unsupervised contact with Adults in Custody.
