In this vital role, you will support dentists during patient procedures, manage clinical workflows, and ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and patient management will contribute to a positive dental experience for every patient. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) (Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient care. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout treatment. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing medical documentation and records securely. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and handling general inquiries. Follow dental sterilization procedures meticulously to uphold infection control standards and aseptic techniques. Assist with clinical procedures involving oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, or other specialties as needed. Support the use of dental equipment including intraoral cameras, digital X-ray machines, and a four-handed dentistry setup for efficient workflow. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Proficiency in taking X-rays (including dental X-ray and 3D scanner technology) and performing oral surgery assistance. Knowledge of infection prevention management including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control expertise. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently. Excellent communication skills to support patient care and collaborate effectively with the team. Certification in Dental Assisting (such as CDA or RDA) is preferred; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are advantageous.
