This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced dental professional who understands the clinical, financial, insurance, and sales sides of an orthodontic consultation and can confidently guide patients and parents from their initial visit through starting treatment. The ideal candidate is warm and personable while also being confident, competitive, organized, persuasive, and results-driven. Strong sales ability is essential for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Dental or orthodontic experience Dental assisting experience Current NC X-ray certification Strong sales skills and demonstrated ability to close Strong dental and orthodontic insurance knowledge Ability to verify and interpret orthodontic benefits and accurately estimate patient responsibility Experience presenting treatment fees, insurance benefits, payment plans, and financing options Confidence discussing financial arrangements and addressing financial concerns Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong follow-up and organizational skills Professional, polished demeanor Ability and willingness to assist clinically when needed Previous orthodontic Treatment Coordinator experience is strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Treatment Coordinator, you will play an important role in both the new-patient experience and the continued growth of the practice.

Responsibilities include:

Build rapport and establish trust with new patients and families Obtain diagnostic records, including X-rays, photographs, and digital scans Assist the orthodontist during new-patient examinations Clearly communicate the doctor's recommended treatment Present orthodontic treatment options and fees Verify, interpret, and explain orthodontic insurance benefits Calculate estimated insurance benefits and patient financial responsibility Present payment plans and financing options Communicate the value of treatment and confidently address questions, concerns, and objections Confidently ask patients to move forward with treatment Schedule treatment starts Consistently follow up with patients who do not start at their consultation Track pending patients and take ownership of follow-up and treatment-start goals Maintain accurate consultation, insurance, financial, and follow-up records Assist clinically when needed

You know how to listen, build trust, identify concerns, communicate value, discuss finances comfortably, understand insurance, address objections, and confidently help patients make a decision. You understand that follow-up matters. When a patient isn't ready to start immediately, you are comfortable staying connected, answering questions, and helping them overcome barriers to treatment. You are also comfortable being accountable for results. Consultation conversion, pending-patient follow-up, and treatment starts are important measures of success in this position.
