Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant I to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will support dentists and hygienists by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and delivering outstanding patient care. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting focused on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and specialized procedures like prosthodontics and endodontics. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use. Take high-quality dental X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment details accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patient education by explaining procedures using appropriate dental terminology and assisting with medical documentation for insurance claims or medical coding. Perform vital signs assessments and assist with medical imaging procedures to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination. Serve as a friendly dental receptionist when needed, greeting patients warmly and scheduling appointments efficiently. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, but not a requirment. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is essential for managing digital records effectively. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical records and documentation. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, dental imaging, and taking vital signs demonstrates readiness for this role. Understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology enhances your ability to support diverse dental procedures including prosthodontics and endodontics. Experience supporting chairside assisting in procedures involving pediatric patients or complex treatments is advantageous. Certification in dental assisting or related training programs is beneficial but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key! Join us as a Dental Assistant I to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while advancing your career in a dynamic healthcare environment!
