Experience is a plus but NOT required. In this energetic role, you will support dentists and hygienists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and dental materials, maintaining strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as implant and periodontal surgeries by handing instruments and managing dental supplies. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while ensuring patient safety through proper technique and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including updating medical histories, treatment notes, and medical documentation. Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, especially in pediatrics or special needs cases. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans to promote overall dental health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and maintaining organized medical records for compliance with HIPAA standards. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing infection control procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient documentation and record keeping. Familiarity with advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment. Ability to perform general dentistry procedures confidently while supporting specialized fields like endodontics or prosthodontics when needed. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering a positive experience in the dental clinic environment.
